Born in June of 1998, Kemisinuola Afuwape, the founder and creative Director for Kemikam, is a visionary, self-taught and an incoming Nigeria fashion designer whose love and appreciation for those light bulb moments and black culture drove her to create her brand.

How did you come about Kemikam?

I created Kemikam to give women the voice to speak through what they wear. The way they feel when they put on any item from Kemikam, whether I think of the new designs and colours with the creative team or having fit sessions with the fit models and asking how each piece of clothing or accessories makes them feel.

I love that clothes can make you feel awake, confident and unique, and I wish to share that feeling with the world. Every design we have created is carefully prepared; at kemikam, quality and YOU are our priority.

I wanted to have a particular design in all colours available, and referring kemikam to your close friends was so important to me when creating my brand.

What we want from you is to help us showcase our wear on your page to reach a bigger audience.

The business was launched in October 2022. Kemikam’s core values are contemporary, sophisticated, sustainable and quality.

Kemikam is not only about women’s wear but also women’s accessories like scarves, headwear, footwear and purses. Currently, they are starting with only wear.
